Is it just me?
Thursday, October 21, 2010 at 10:34AM Do you ever look at a plane in the air and wonder who's on it and where they're going and why they're going there and if anyone on the plane is sad to be leaving or going and if anyone is extra happy to be leaving or going?
Do you ever sit on a plane and wonder if anyone is wondering about where you're going?
Do you ever want to post something on Twitter and then don't because you fear someone will ruin it for you? Yesterday I wanted to write that I loved a certain toy line and then I feared someone would tell me it's made out of poisonous wood and painted with poisonous paint, all by elementary school children in a third world country and that my love for this line of toys is just one of the problems of Colonialism.
Do you ever argue past the point where you realize you're wrong just because you don't want to be wrong?
Do you get hunches for things days before they happen?
Do you wonder why some people think obvious things aren't obvious and love to play the role of Captain Obvious and point them out?
I like knowing the answers. There are probably few things in life I enjoy more than knowing the answer to something (good thing I work in education). But being comfortable asking questions is also really important.
Sometimes, when my sister asks something random and I say, "Oh, actually, I know why that is" she'll say, "OH MY GOD, sometimes I just want to WONDER!"
And she has a point. There is an enjoyment in sitting and pondering something. I think it's why the word "ponder" sounds so serene and relaxing.
Right? It does, right? Or is that just me? (Hey, more questions.)
Feel free to comment with any questions you've had on your mind today or recently or for years.
